Two days of Rwanda best hike expedition in volcanoes national park begins with a hiking tour to Bisoke Mountain an activity that start at 7.00 AM with a briefing, followed by a drive to the start point at 8.00am. However, one needs to have spent a night close to the park in order to start the hike fresh unlike leaving so that calls for day 3 if you to start the trip from Kigali Rwanda’s capital.
Day 1: Full Day Bisoke hike
Early breakfast is advised in order to arrive at Kinigi Park headquarters by 7.00am for briefing. Don’t forget your snack or packed lunch from the lodge of your residence. At the headquarters, register with office and meet the assigned park ranger guides together with other day’s hikers. Take note of the important information given by rangers and later embark on the 30-45 minutes’ drive to the start point. Porters for hire are available at the starting point at accost of $20 and would recommend every hikers to hire porters because luggage becomes heavier at some point during the trek. Walking sticks are also available for hire but you can come with yours if you have one. Expect to see a lot of plant life, thick vegetation, amazing views as you get to the top of the summit. The summit is too incredible with big Crater Lake estimated to be 100 meters deep. The days hike always last between 5-7 hours depending on the fitness of climbers.
Day 2:Rwanda Gorilla tracking adventure
Wake up ready for your life changing experience in volcanoes national park a home for the world remaining mountain gorillas. The activity also starts with briefing from the park rangers at 7.30 am followed by a guided short walk into the forest in search of mountain gorillas.The walk always varies but usually it’s between 2-6 hours. However tourists are allowed to spend one hour with the gorillas that they use for photography and observation. Charge your camera and be ready to capture life time memories. Drive back to Kigali after the day’s gorilla trek.
