There are several genocide memorials throughout Rwanda where remains of murdered innocent people mostly of ethnic Tutsis are watchfully kept. All genocide memorials are open to public and foreign travellers are welcome to visit. However, exploring the land of great Islands can only be complete with a visit to the mountain Gorillas.
Day 1: Arrival & a Visit to the Genocide memorials
Pick u from the airport on arrival, or meet after breakfast at your hotel of residence in Kigali and proceed for a city tour to Gisozi genocide memorial museum in Kigali, lunch and later head to Parc National des Volcano, a home to mountain gorillas in Rwanda. Day 2: Gorilla tracking experience
Take breakfast and leave for Kinigi station for a 30 minutes briefing about mountain gorilla tracking adventure. Later you will penetrate through the impenetrable forest for a more adventurous and exciting lifetime experience of Mountain Gorilla tracking. You are all reminded to go with your packed lunch and bottled water since the tracking duration depends on the ease to see the gorilla that day and where they slept the previous night. Besides the Gorillas, you will also spot other forest wildlife like the Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Red Tailed Colobus, Blue Monkey, L’hoest and baboons and many more. You will be allowed to stay with gorillas for 1 hour for observation and photographing. Retire for lunch and refreshment at your lodge before driving back to Kigali Hotel or Airport for your scheduled flight back home.
