Day 1: Airport Transfer to Ruhengeri the land of Gorillas

Welcome to the city of Kigali with a population of over 1 million and the capital largest city of Rwanda. If time permits enjoy the Kigali City Tour which offers one an in-depth view of Kigali, past and present, assuring that one feels the genuine heartbeat of the city. There after proceed to volcanoes National park also best known to the outside world as the place where for almost 20yrs the American primatologist Dian Fossey under took her pioneering studies of mountain gorilla behaviours. However Gorilla Tracking is a must do activity for anyone who visits Rwanda Accommodation at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/ Hotel La Palme (Deluxe)/ Kinigi Guest Lodge (Budget).

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Adventure

You may be allowed to choose the group of gorillas you wish to visit at the park briefing point depending on the level of your fitness. The closest being about 2 hours or even a couple of minutes from the park boundary enjoy the trek and a memorable moment with the Gorillas for 1 hour, take pictures of both the Gorillas and the park scenery. Meals and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/ Hotel La Palme (Deluxe)/ Kinigi Guest Lodge (Budget).

Day 3: Dian Fossey Hiking

You will take your breakfast and head to Karisoke Research Centre to see where the famous primatologist The Late Dian Fossey was buried and also spent close to two decades habituating, studying and conserving the endangered Mountain Gorillas without forgetting to visit the two twin lakes .Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/ Hotel La Palme (Deluxe)/ Kinigi Guest Lodge (Budget).

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Take breakfast before hitting the road to the Nyungwe Forest. This Forest contains a variety of habitats including montane forest, bamboo, grasslands, swamps and bogs, and is very mountainous too. It provides the best Golden Monkey trekking, chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk in Rwanda. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe forest lodge / Nyungwe top hill view hotel/Gisakura Guest House.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking.

Enjoy Breakfast and drive to the park headquarters to be briefed about the “dos and don’ts” while with the chimps before entering the forest. Trek the chimpanzees, colonies of habituated Golden Monkeys and other wildlife in the forest including grey-cheeked Mangabeys, blue monkeys, Angolan colobus, L’hoest’s monkeys and owl-faced monkeys. Have lunch and spend an the entire evening relaxing at your lodge. Meals and overnight at Gisakura Guest House, Nyungwe top hill view hotel/Nyungwe forest lodge.

Day 6: Colobus monkey tracking and canopy walk

Take breakfast and assemble at the park head quarters for briefing about the Colobus monkey tracking. Continue to the forest with your guide to track the colobus monkeys. Return back to your lodge for lunch as you prepare for the afternoon Canopy walk adventure which brings birds and other animals into a close range. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe forest lodge / Nyungwe top hill view hotel/Gisakura Safari Lodge.

Day 7: Kigali city tour and Drop off

Have breakfast and drive back to Kigali with a visit to the Genocide Memorial where remains of thousands of Tutsis and moderate Hutus are preserved which include Mirambi Memorial, Nyanza palace and Butare Museum enroute before catching up with your flight back home or drop off at your hotel in Kigali.
