Trip Itinerary

Day 1: pick up and Birding in Kigali

Pick up from your hotel of residence or airport to start the day’s activity of birding in Kigali.Take a nature birding nature walk at Nyarutarama Lake and spot birds like Spot-flanked Barbet, Yellow-billed Duck, Bat Hawk, African Hobby, Swamp Flycatcher, Red-chested Cuckoo, Red-backed Shrike, Little Bee-eater, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, Squacco Heron, Sunbirds, Weavers. Have lunch and spend an afternoon watching bird species at Nyabarongo wetlands. Meals and overnight at Kigali serena hotel for luxury,Mille collines Deluxe and sports view hotel/Chezlando for budget.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park

Have breakfast and head to Akagera National Park. On your arrival, you will carry birding in the open savannah and also spot several bird species along the way arriving late afternoon .You have one of the best panoramic views known in East Africa overlooking the River Akagera meanders. check in, freshen up as you wait for dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge/Dereva Hotel

Day 3: Full day Bird Watching in Akagera National park

Take early breakfast at your lodge of residence before entering the park for the full day bird watching expedition. You will have a picnic lunch and later return to the lodge. You will observe different bird species such as Long-toed Lapwing, Bennett’s Woodpecker, White-winged Warbler, headed Black Chat, Swamp Flycatcher, White-Black-collared Barbet, Tabora Cisticola and Miombo Wren-warbler. Enjoy photography before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge/Dereva Hotel

Day 4: Departure

Return to Kigali for a departure flight or drop off at your hotel of residence.
